Over at Ain't It Cool News they're reporting that Paul Bettany (Master and Commander, Wimbledon) is one of two actors reading for the role of Joker in the sequel to Batman Begins. While I never thought of it before, this is brilliant casting, especiallly taking into consideration what Anton told me of Bettany's performance in Gangster No. 1. Knowing Nolan is also a Brit and considering how many talented Brit actors are already in this series, count on Bettany being the Joker. Gotta finally watch Gangster No. 1 now.

If they don't go with Bettany, they should really consider Tim Roth (reunited with Gary Oldman) for the role. I just have this feeling that he would be brilliant as Joker. Also, Nolan should consider his good friend Guy Pearce for the role of Harvey Dent.

Both are excellent choices.Though i would prefer bettany over roth. I think he has the comanding screen pressence, over roth, that is necessary for an outrageous villian like the joker.
and Perice would be an excellent Harvey Dent

I agree Bettany will be great. Ask Anton and he'll confirm that Bettany is one of my very favourite currently working actors. I'm really hoping he's the one they go with.

However, how much Roth have you seen? The guy is amazing, and he stole Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes while under a pile of makeup.

Hey Anders Its me....

Hmm both good choices... I would go with bettany over roth... he has a long face...

But I wish and I'm sure we all do...that Mark Hamill would play Joker.

or atleast lend his voice.

I've been telling you for years now to see Gangster No.1. It's by no means a great movie, but Bettany is just fantastically deranged in it. A ruthless killer.
HE'd be a great joker.

I agree with Brent that Mark Hamill should at least be the voice of the Joker.
